On Friday afternoon September 16, 2005 a much anticipated south swell hit southern California and I was fortunate enough to be surfing that day. The water at my favorite spot was discolored by a red tide, which is a natural occurrence where microscopic plankton blooms, giving the water a red/brown appearance. Despite the water's beef broth look, the waves were good and I managed to pick off a few choice waves that day. On this particular day I chose to ride my 10 foot 4 inch longboard shaped by ET in the style of a Dewey Webber performer model.

Nothing but open wave face. . . . . .Unless you kook it up.

After a nice long session on one of the better days of the year, my arms were plenty tired from all the paddling. But as I sat on my board in the water waiting through the long lulls between sets, it was hard to finally pick "one more wave."
