Thanx A Ton~ EMW113215 :)
i just wanted to let you know that i read your page on the Grateful Dead and just wanted to let you know how moving it was. i've always been fascinated i guess w/ the whole hippy scene, esp. the Dead scene. I never got to go to a Dead show b/c i didn't start listening to 'em almost exactly around the time when Jerry died. I was i think 14 yrs old when i started to listening to 'em. my brother is the one that got me into 'em. now i'm 18 almost 19 and got sick of listening to the same old songs w/ diff. jams and stuff but now i can't figure out what i was thinking. i go to phish shows now so that's my hippy movement. i'm sure you've heard of 'em. i guess i'll have to settle to watching porn instead of experiencing the real thing on the Dead. i wish i could have but i didn't get to so that sucks. anyways, i just wanted to let you know how good i thought your page was, and hope you enjoyed my praise. good luck w/ your family too........peace. --mitchum p.s. i'd like to know if you're still going to put up your web page www.touchofgrey.com so email me back if you get a chance.....thanks alot.
There are no gay pictures. What is a website without some good ass f***ing???
Mike's Reply: Easy there partner, this is a family style web site. Save that for your favorite chat room!
I stumbled in here looking for post-mortem daguerrotypes. Yeah, I know, weird hobby. I didn't find any, but just wanted to let you know I enjoyed your site and your sense of humor.
Nice page! Came upon it while searching for my nephew 'Michael Reisbord's' Home page. I guess that there must be both an East coast AND a West Coast contingent of Reisbords. My father, Nathan S. Reisbord came to US from Russia about 1902. I am Stuart Reisbord living in a section near Philadelphia,PA and, as you have probably guessed, am rapidly approaching 70. I would love to learn more about the West Coast Reisbords and would be happy to trade info w/you. My wife Miriam and I spent many a day selling art at the San Diego ComiCon during the 80's.

YOUR WEB PAGE WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT GAVE ME ANY INFO ON WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THANK U
Cool website my friend.
I think your web site is great, I have two california fractionals and have been checking there values, I have a proof like condition 1853 octagonal gold half dollar with the peacock, it has very straight lines. I have a round 1853 proof like with the wreath on the reverse. thanks again for your web site.
Found your sire while trying to find information about a gold(????) coin I've come across in my travels through flea markets and antique shops. Coin is small, about the size of our early US gold coin dollar. Head of what looks to be Trojan soldier, with 9 stars, the word EUREKA devided by a star(EUR * EKA) with date at bottom, 1849. Reverse, center has replica of sunrise with rays and figure of what I beleive is supposed to be a bear but looks more like a wolf, surronded by laurel wreath, at the top words"California Gold" and date at bottom 1849. No denomanation. coin if real is in absolute mint condition. Any opinion?????
Wow!! Amazing site Mike. Lots of history and wonderful pictures. I really enjoyed your site. love you-give kisses to michelle and little ones.
This is Brian Sellers a former client who lives in the Palisades. Will send you an E-Mail with updates.

My husband and I have spent hours today printing out and reading your material on the Gold Rush and Gold Rush coins.
You can't imagine how much I appreciate finding your site through a Dogpile search for "gold." I'm writing my second mystery novel and there's a Gold Rush angle, so I really needed detailed information.
One thing I can't find anywhere, though. Do you know how the Long Tom got its name?
Thanks again for the information and beautiful pictures. That section on the sinking of the ss Central America just knocked our socks off. I've already got the local library searching its system for one of the books you mentioned.
Hey Michael! How is everyone? I hope we get to see everyone soon, and meet Leila! I saw her picture, and she is adorable! Congratulations!
CONGRATS AND MAZEL TOV! I found it easier and quicker to check the pix on the web vs. the e-mail,but thanx for the e-mail! I am very slow tocheck it these days... Emma can't wait to meet her newest cousin! Eileen
Hey hey...just checking the site, looking good...

Southern California Deadhead...got married to a great woman and now have great kids...work in investments...and I was at all of the shows you have pictures from...I'm sure we were in the same building having the time of our lives many times over the years...
Love your photo's on www.touchofgrey.com

You have a beautiful family, thanks for sharing that with all of us. I found out about you because I found a picture of Carlos Santana in the Santana Cafe and it had your address on it. I am #1 Santana fan for over 30 years and loved the picture you posted. Do you have any more Santana pics? Lynda Ortiz-Parrish
I was nice to be able to view some pictures from concerts I have attended. I remember Vegas very well, which normally would not be the case. The Sunday show April 28th was my 25th birthday.
I was very surprised when I veiwed your picture, you look a lot like my son inlaw and he has a new baby boy name charlie,I found your site very interesting but I still have not found the coin I'm looking for .I'm thinking that it might be a slug it is hexagon shaped about the size of the end of your little finger, has a calafornia mint on one side and the 1/4 sighn on the other? looks like it could be gold? Pretty sure came from around 1852.If you have any ideas would like to know,Yes I'm a dead head, play guitar, have about 5000 albums, hall cattle or livestock and own my own company.they call me the Highlander.
REISO..YOU ARE THE MAN...AND THE PHOTO LOOKS LIKE A YOUNG JOHN LENNON TYPE
Hi Mike!
A most excellent Web site! I very rarely take the time to check out the "me" on different Ebay vendors (for lack of a better word). But, after I read the "You Rock" comment, which I sooo appreciate, I thought some investigation was in order. And besides that it's 12:15AM and am tired of shopping online.
I'm not a mall shopper by nature, so I burn up the line to the internet trying to find endless bargains which is how I struck up an interest in Ebay whenever that was, time all seems to flow together, and FAST. Actually my brother turned me on to it long before my "addiction" took hold, a piece at a time, mind you, much to my chagrin! Oh well, that's life!
As you know, I live in Salt Lake City (that's in Utah). You'd be surprised how many people asked that question before the 2002 Winter Olympics! And yes, I'm LDS, along with my husbuand and children. I wasn't always so. I was born and raised in Fresno and had a great time in college. I have a BS in Criminology from Fresno State. I so miss the Thompson seedless grapes, oranges and all of the fruit and flowers indiginous to the area. Of course that's not to say there are some absolutely beautiful flowers, etc. here. We have about 1-1/2 acre of land that we built a house on. We have 4 wonderful cherry trees, an apricot, a few pears, peaches, nectarines, plums and various grape vines. Being landlocked is no party, but the mountains are absolutely beautiful!!! We live "on the bench", which means, we are up high enough (about 4500 ft. above sea level) from the valley floor far enough away from the phenomenom that causes those nasty temperature inversions. What's really cool is that we can be at any of the ski resorts from 20 minutes to Park City and 30 minutes to Alta (the local favorite).
I was married once before and have a 19 year-old son with him. He has a pretty serious girlfriend now who is attending a private (I'd like to say Catholic college) in San Diego on a full scholarship. Justin is still dinkin' around trying to figure out what he wants to do (besides the obvious!) with his life. He's a good kid. There is a drug problem here in Utah, but not as obvious as it is in Fresno. (I still have many friends in law enforcement there and they say it's getting worse by the day. More about those ties later, I REALLY AM RAMBLING!) Where was I? Oh year, my kids! Justin had his home phone # deleted from the the school directory because of all the girls (some not so nice) calling him. When he was born, 10/2/1983, he looked like a girl and did for a couple of years, he was so pretty. The looks never changed! He's dark haired (wavy/curly when he lets it get long, like never)like his dad and blue eyed, like his mom & dad. He paid me the ultimate compliment Saturday night. My husband and I were going to a Christmas party and I had just bought a new outfit at Nordstrom that day. He looked at me and said some words that will always be locked up in my heart somewhere, "Well Mom, you still got it!". Whoa! I better speed this up, I'm falling asleep at the keyboard! We have a blue-eyed, blong, little me, 12 year-old son who is a real kick in the pants. My husband was married before and has 3 kids. "The Brady Bunch" wants to make me throw-up. His middle daughter is married and has an 8 week old that I tend one day a week! He's the sweetest thing around. But those days are long gone for me. Being a grandma at 46 is mind-boggling, but fun. I was always the closest to her. He has 3 altogether. Two girls (both married, the one with the baby is the younger of the two at 23, then one son, 20 who isn't married, but has a baby. Cool. Just the example I want for our son, Alex. My husband, Carl, has bazillions of family here and there. My family is much simpler. It consists of a younger sister (in Backwardsville a.k.a. Bakersfied, and my buddy, brother in Freshole. My parents died in the 90's, leaving me as the eldest, scary. Well, I hope you haven't given up on this epistle. It was fun to write it! Again, thanks for the great service. It was fun getting to know your family! Well, it's way past my bedtime. It was fun sharing. I'll look for your auctions in the near future.
Sincerely, Karen Roestenburg (that's Dutch)
P.S. My dad was Finnish, so that leaves my children hard headed and subborn if you want to go by the stereotypes! Not to mention their half-breed mother! Thanks again for everything.
Hi Mike,
I just wanted to let you know that you have a great site filled with wonderful info on rare coins. I have in my full possession an 1853 Half-Dime in the U.S. currency. I must admit, it's in excellent condition and I was wondering from your massive collection, if you were interested.
My mom found some old coins after her husband passed. like 1853 indian pennys. 1855 $20.blake&com. coin. and more where would a person in Pocateelo Idaho go have them appraised or see if they are real.
nice site! I found it from google when looking for pics of the NYE tix.
Being head-injured, coma almost 3 weeks, I found out: We have this Teeny-Weeny-Lifetime to prepare for Utopia; Declarations can never fully exclaim how extraordinary and far-superior Heaven is to anything we sinful mortals possess in our Finite Existence (I know. I was Upstairs - TWICE). Smell the coffee, America! Wake-UP!!! Sign the GB, too. God Bless You.
Trim your nose hairs! Just kidding. Enjoyed the site.
Micha and Jodie
Great looking girl there. Congratulations! You also have a great web site. I sent you an email. Hope you can help with my questions. I do have a story behind my questions but will not bore you with it at this time.
I like, I like , I like....
It adds in the human touch....I know about that as I am a single father of 4 girls myself.
Take care Mike, Randy Umagat
I love the pics from the Dead shows! You got some amazing shots.
Nice Insight into the Man you are!
Thank you.

you appeared to be an avid collector of coins. I am looking for information on a round indian 1880 over 76 MS65 it is a mis-strike over 76. I started collecting a set on quarter fractional and am attempting to complete a set of four quarter fractional coins. I would like to ask the estimated value of the coin if purchased separately from the other three coins. in has a population of 137 original strike but 51 exist in this particular grade. any information you could share would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm searching the web for info on "Califorina Fractional Gold Coins" and your page came up on the top. Bill
Really I just wanted to say hi. I found your site because I am looking for a copy of the dead at vegas 4/28/91. I typed that date in and you showed up. That was the last of the 50 shows I got to see. I was also at the other shows that you have pictures of except the '95 one obviously. Cal Expo was an extra big trip because someone dosed our whole section (The Phil Zone) with a spray bottle. I always loved the shows for so many reasons but everyone's individual adventure intrigued me so much. I still have dreams about trying to get to a show. I was struck by how parallel our paths were for a while...I grew up in SD and graduated from San Diego State in 1991. So anywho...just wanted to say hey now!
this site is really bad
Dear Michael, What a neat surprise to see your delightful web page! I was hoping to talk to you once again about our latest "new" guy at Wells Fargo - Elliot Katz. Would it be possible to talk on the phone one evening or week-end? Brian is doing great on a new med. Wish we could find something similar for our finances! Your can reach us at 454-0255 or Brainseller.com @Yahoo. Thanks for the treat of reading about your family!
i like the colours very much, so u wanna know me so u will.
amazing photo of the dead at las vegas. I was doing a google search for images of Las Vegas crowd scenes. They are still touring with someone else on lead guitar... I got to see 'em 37 times between '72 and '99... I do a lot of psychedelic ART on the internet http://gregvan.tripod.com Animations in Visual Basic...
I am 70 and gave my favorite coin, a 25 cent gold coin from the gold rush to my grand daughter. Her Dad jmorin@snet.net contacted you. What are your thoughts on that coin. It had a small hole in it but other than that it really looks great
Riso:
Great website! It looks like you really took great care and attention! Hope all is well

Hi, Mike. My name is Julina--I'm a nurse here in California where I grew up. I have recently acquired through inheritence my child hood home and about four generations worth of stuff. Amongst the "stuff" are several misc. coins that I have been trying to research online without having to pay the $85.00 that several sites are selling their books at. Your's was among the most comprehensive and informative sites so far. My question today is about a "California Gold Rush" coin I found in my great grandfather's things. It is in some type of protective packaging already (it looks like the old slides they used to use for slide shows when I was in school) with a stamp across the top reading "1852 BU". The coin itself has an Indian Head with full headdress and stars encirculating it and "1852" underneath. The back has "California Goldrush" across the top, a big "1/2" under that, and some type of animal that I am not sure what it is under that. There are some type of leaves, I think on either side of the animal starting the "California Goldrush" encirclation across the top of the coin. The coin itself is extremely small. About the size of the ones I have seen on your site. Do I have anything to get excited about? Please email me back at Julina2004@netzer.net I appreciate your time!
Very nice and useful website. Please visit my website!!! :)
I just happened to look up Violet Crumbles in New Orleans and link to here. I like the rainbow colours! Originally an I am now living in Biloxi and have been living in the states for over 2 years and wanted to check out the food availability in new orleans. Thanks for the site!

Well hello! I found your site by accident, really. You see...I was chatting with an old high school friend. (high school being 2 years ago) We joked about getting married, then decided we would have two dogs. He asked me what dog I wanted, and I asked him what he wanted. I'm a lady who likes big dogs, so I searched on yahoo for pictures of big dogs. Lo and behold, a picture of friends popped up. I liked the old pic from high school, and the new one years later. It touched me. I thought to myself "Look at those friends! So much has happened in their lives and they still actually like each other." It gave me hope. Though I could only stand a few people from my own school, perhaps someday I will meet with them all again. Things will be different. We will run to each other with open arms. I hope this answer is satisfactory to you, because it certainly is honest. I am 20 years old and am a female. I live in Arizona and am an English major. You might say to yourself, "How can this poor child be an English major? Look at her poor grammar and errors!" I asked that you refrain from asking yourself this, and appreciate the beauty of my comment. Too often I am bored with prompt, pointless entries. I add spice. I add variety. I add whole numbers because fractions are too hard. Well, that is all for now. And to think, I found this site while looking for pictures of canines. The gods smile upon you, Sir. Thank you very much for allowing me to write this. Have a wonderful day. P.S. I will be back to visit this site.
Dude, This is sooo cool!!! I'm sitting here with my wife to be going over your website and loving everything about it. From the picture of your cat, to your surfing video, to your hommage to the Greatful Dead.

Mike Reisbord's Reply: This scam is almost as old as the internet itself. Spare me!
Hello again from the East coast. I'm sure by now that you are aware of the Reisbord clan here. Wouldn't it be great to have a Reisbord total reunion with the entire clan (if possible)meeting someplace in the U.S. that might be equadistant for us all.....I mean the Grand-parents, parents, sons, daughters, grand and greatgrand kids. Think about it. Stu Reisbord stutoonz@aol.com

Cool site! I just ran a search for looking for 2004/2005 New Years Dead Show info or rumors as Bobby is taking time off and Warren is playing the East Cost, and your site popped up. Cool memories came back with the Cal Expo Ticket Stubs and the NYE '89 stubs... I came back to Northern California, from Malibu, for Jerry's memorial in 1995- its cool to see other professionals, around my age, into some of the same stuff. Rock on!

I'm new to the coin collection hobby and I love it. I've found a California Gold Piece. I'ts octanular with a bear on one side with a 1/2 number in the center of the coin and an Indian on the other side of the coin. It's dated 1854. Can you tell me what it is? I'm having a hard time finding it on the internet. I need to ask someone of knowledge and of good character. So, I'm asking you.
You have a great web site Keep it up!
Thanks for your info on coin repros. I now know I have an 1850 Baldwin $10 repro instead of an original so I won't be disappointed later! I have no idea how this coin got in my house. My boys probably dug it up.
Site is fantastic - more of the same please!! Keep up the great work :)

Thanks for your hospitality. "Who'd thunk" walking the sunny beach at Malibo one week and kicking snow off the next would be possible, but we are back in Bean Town.
It was really an enjoyable visit...Thanks again.

Hi Mike, nice website. I was looking for information on a 1851 SMV. Californa 20$ Gold piece I have. I found there to be alot of info on Baldwin & his company. Believing what I have is too good to be true I pressed on for info & started to research replica's. Thus I found your sight. The coin I have looks like the one you pictured. What else can you tell me about my coin & is there any value at all to it, if it is indeed a replica. Thanks in advance for taking the time to fill me in. I look forward to hering from you. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone call. Email: stevenweeks21@hotmail.com Phone : 570-724-5315

Aloha Mike, Nice website. I was looking for information on a 1853 San Francisco $20 Gold piece I have. I found there to be a lot of info on gold but can't find any with a San Francisco stamp. Believing what I have is too good to be true I pressed on for info & started to research replica's. Thus I found your sight. The coin I have looks like the one you pictured. but on the front it has moffat and on the back it has San Francisco. What can you tell me about my coin. & is it a replica? Thanks in advance for taking the time to fill me in. I look forward to hearing from you. I can email you pictures of it if that would help you. Mahalo Sandy
I just stopped by because an article in the L.A. Times got me thinking of Mr. Paul Reisbord. I used to work at C&R in the 80s and would see you and your brother Danny every so often at the warehouse sales. I can't believe time has passed so fast and you have families of your own. Mr. Reisbord was always very gracious to me so please send a greeting to him from a former employee.
COOL SITE
i'm glad to hear you have once again found the joy in the music. i too have been on a break for what seems to be too long. i had the fortune of seeing 30 or so shows starting in the early 90's on up until riverport in 95'. seems since then i have become the superadult. married w/ 2 kids, mortgage, 40 hr. work week, ect. just found etree.org and have been downloading several shows and it just feels and sounds great. anyway good luck here's to you.
It's good to see another deadhead here on the net. Jerry was the greatest along with Pigpen and the others who've played in the band.
Your website is just beautiful! I wish you much success in all your endeavours! In love, friendship and healing Linda
Wed. 8-23-06 I was very inspired by your comments about what success means. Your statements sound sensible and positive. I liked the rest of your website also. Good health and best wishes, Claire
Thanks for the information. Keep it up. Best greetings.
I have devoted all life to it. Nobody understood me. My reasoning caused only sneers. People c onsidered, that I only waste time. You have returned me to life, having collected on your site the most interesting information and the most interesting people.
I have been reading your guest book from the beginning, page or two a day. Often I have the energy to read and enjoy, but not write (it is difficult to explain emotions). I like the comments in different languages, even though I can read English well, and Spanish a little, and can just understand some of the words in Italian and Japanese.
To tell the truth I in a real delight of that you have created. I cannot call it as site at all. It is the whole world and life for the people keen by this theme, for people with the common interests. I think, that the purpose of your site is to unite people with similar sights.
Good Info, I found you at the Google, thought u might wish to know.
Wonderful and informative site, well written, easy to navigate. I like your site very much! Great work!
Thank you ... have a good time surfing site
Thanks that you helped me in information search. I have sent the link to your site to all my friends, they were very grateful, but first of all they were grateful to you!
I ve just came across your Web site and wanted to pass on good wishes to you and your team on putting together such an extraordinary resource.
Greetings to you for what you've done with your site
I every morning begin with visiting of your site now. These actions raise my mood and take my words, better than any auto-training. Now I understand, that for site creation it is necessary to be not webmaster, but the psychologist.
It happens that I have a lot of free time, which I devote to the hobbies, I can read clauses, look through photos by hours, but now I spend all my time at your site.
