To have a look at ourselves we simply need to look at the friends around us, because they are a reflection of our own interests. If that is true, I like what I see.
My closest core group of friends was made in high school. We called ourselves the Big Dogs and we are still a tight crew. Me, Phil, Jon, Erik and Dave (From L to R)

In addition to the Dogs, I have other close friends that I go way back with. Please feel free scroll down this page to see just a few of the many people I consider my friends. You can click the pictures below for larger images.

This is what the dogs look like in 1986, when we were still young pups. Click here to learn about an "incident" Erik and I had at Club Med Cancun with some amazing pictures. |

Damon and I have known each other since junior high school. Our friendship has evolved over the years. Early in high school we enjoyed sneaking a drive in a family car before we were of legal driving age. In collage we went to different party schools, and we hooked up regularly to share stories or a few beers. Now we normally get to hang out together when our kids have play dates. In this picture from 1999 his little one is still little, and we are taking a fun mini-train ride. |

Here is a picture of my friend Colby as he sits on a bolder in Zion National Park. Like many of my close friends, I have been hanging out with Colby since we met at high school. This photo was taken at our first annual Big Dogs reunion in September 2001 while we were on an incredible hike from the rim of Zion canyon into the valley. You can see some of the neat checkerboard patterns on the cliff walls behind Colby. |

This is Gells. We called him the Joker in High School and he is still getting laughs. He likes to joke about the time he dated my sister, way back in high school. Funny guy. In this picture he is up at dirt Mullholland overlooking the San Fernando Valley. That sweet bike was stolen, and he still hasn't replaced it with a new one. What's up with that Gells? Get a new bike already or were gona have to start joking about that. Gells is currently a successful entertainment industry type guy, but he doesn't mountain bike much. |

This is Whitey and Tiff. The pup in between is Jake, still fresh and young. Like most of the faces on this page, Whitey was part of the High School crew, and then onto SDSU. Like Gells above, he then came back to the home turf and is now also an entertainment industry heavyweight. You should see this guy on a dance floor. He can shake it like a go-go ho, and that's a skill few in this crowd possess. He and Tiff had a beautiful wedding in the summer of 2002, and once again the dogs had reason to celebrate. |

This is Mike and Suzie. Mike was Mr. School spirit in High School including class president and Yell Leader. We goofed on him endlessly for his gung ho nature, but as it turned out he has always enjoyed a bit of limelight. Today he is an actor and had always had a great sens of humor. They are looking extra dapper here at Erik's wedding. Mike and Suzie were married in Santa Barbara on April 20th, 2002 (4/20). All the dogs were there in full form, as usual. |

| This picture is of my friend Bob. We became close when we were undergraduates at San Diego State University, where we saw dozens of Dead shows together. This pictures is from a Jerry Garcia Band show in Chula Vista, CA on 8/2/92. Notice we were sitting against the stage, and Bob has a photo pass on his shorts. Bob is one of those people for whom "the sun shines on his face, and the wind blows on his back." He deserves nothing less. | |
| These smiling people are Dave & Katie. Bob introduced me to them a few years ago, and they quickly became friends. Katie has a zest for life which few people can match, and Dave is the kind of person who can achieve big things when he sets his sights. Among the many things I have gained from their friendship, an appreciation for fine wine is worth mentioning. They organize awesome wine tasting weekends, and this photo was taken on a party bus from one such weekend. Hey Dave and Katie, got any Opus One to spare? | |

The happy couple to the left is Rob and Illona. Michelle and I have been friends with them since San Diego State days. These two dated the longest of anyone I know before getting hitched. How long was it Kaz? I guess good things come to those who wait! This picture is from their wedding October 15th, 2000. It was held in their home town of Bloomfield Detroit while the beautiful fall colors painting the city for their special day. |
