| The best way to get tickets to a Grateful Dead concert were to order them directly thought Grateful Dead Ticket Sales (GDTS). Many deadheads would decorate their envelopes so it would catch the eye of someone at GDTS in the hopes of getting great seats as reward for the artistic efforts. |
| The mail order process reduced the roll of middlemen like ticket master or scalpers from the process. Additionally, the tickets you received in the mail were beautiful, with glitter, artwork, and foil. |
